Abstract
The intraband magnetoabsorption by optical polarons has been calculated to linear order in the carrier-phonon coupling constant for the case of a simple parabolic band. A finite lifetime has been introduced for the Landau levels to take into account scattering mechanisms other than that due to optical phonons. The pinning effect, line broadening, and phonon-assisted transitions are studied under these assumptions. Keywords
