Abstract
Amorphous Ni‐Ti alloys were synthesized by producing nanoscale amorphous Ni‐Ti particles and compacting these powders, in situ, in a high vacuum environment. X‐ray diffraction measurements revealed that crystallization occurs in these alloys in the temperature range 450–550 °C, although measurements of electrical resistivity and heat release showed that other relaxation processes occur at lower temperatures. The Vicker’s hardness of these alloys is ≊350 kg/mm2. The results are discussed in terms of interparticle or grain boundaries in the amorphous alloy. Keywords
