Abstract
The continuation from 1976 to 1981 of a light-trap survey of the Lepidoptera of Norfolk Island, southwest Pacific is reported. The island environment is described briefly. Records of various species suspected to be wholly or partially migrant to the island are presented, including 1 definite record of an individual of Ophiusa disjungens Walker from New Caledonia. The climatic conditions prevalent during the 2 most significant arrivals over the period are described, and general patterns of arrival are discussed. In a systematic section new information on rare or migrant taxa, the status or identity of taxa, life histories and seasonal and local distribution patterns is presented. The following species are recorded from the island for the 1st time: Cosmopterix attenuatella Walker, Morophaga clonodes Meyrick, Bactra optanias Meyrick, Anarsia trichodeta Meyrick, Epipagis cancellalis Zeller, Marasmia poeyalis Boisduval (misidentified previously), Chloroclystis filata Meyrick, Nyctemera amica White, Amyna punctum Fabricius, O. disjungens Walker, Chrysodeixis acuta Walker and Lacera noctilio Fabricius.
