Abstract
Blood was taken from Brahman, Angus and cross bred cows reared in the same environment and grazed on alfalfa pasture. No difference was found in serum, glutamic oxaloacetic, or glutamic pyruvic transaminase nor in the cholesterol content glycoprotein and lipoprotein fractions of the serum. Brahman cows possessed significantly higher plasma, vitamin A and carotene content as well as a significantly lower percentage of total serum protein as albumin and alpha globulin. Brahman cows exhibited higher beta and gamma globulin percentages. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
