Abstract
A semi-empirical formula for calculating the RMS radii of the charge distribution in stable nuclei and nuclei close to stability with Z, N>or=5 is presented. The results of calculations of the RMS radii for a spherical distribution of charge in deformed and diffused nuclei under rotation, which is assumed to be the Fermi distribution, are also presented. In both calculations the neutron shell effect is observed in addition to the nuclear deformation effect. Keywords
