The E2 strength in the Ni(e,α) reaction in the resonance region

Abstract
New data on electron- and bremsstrahlung-induced 8 MeV alpha -particle emission from Ni are shown to be consistent with statistical decay of the excited nucleus. This result is in marked disagreement with a recent analysis of a similar experiment but in good agreement with ( alpha , alpha 'x) coincidence experiments.Keywords
