Abstract
Herpes simplex virus was isolated from blood of five adult rabbits and from the fetuses of these animals following inoculation of virus on ht scarified cornea. The virus was demonstrated by the production of typical herpetic plaques following inoculation of blood and fetal homogenates onto the chorioallantoic membranes of the developing chick embryo. The virus isolated from the fetal specimen was identified by neutralization of infectivity with specific immune serum. Keywords
