Abstract
Patients (78) with rheumatoid arthritis who had 1 or 2 total hip replacements (THR) are presented. At follow-up examination these patients underwent 5.6 orthopedic operations on the average because of their rheumatoid arthritis. About 60% of the patients wore specially fitted shoes, and about 50% of the patients received financial help to improve their homes or to find other accomodation more suited to their disability.
