Abstract
Our success with a preparation of 3,3-dimethlcyclohexanone from 5,5-dimethyl-1,3-cyclohexanedione1 encouraged us to investigate the generality and utility of this rection. Using a scaled-down version of our earlier procedure,1,2 we examined the products obtained from catalytic hydrogenation of several representative diketones, as shown below.Keywords
