Abstract
Scientific inquiry seldom focuses on the sexual identity and behavior of Latin American ancestry men who have sex with men (MSM). This is problematic because the AIDS epidemic is quickly spreading among these men (Diaz, Buehler, Castro, & Ward, 1993). Without sufficient knowledge about their sexuality, prevention efforts will remain severely hampered. The sparse scientific literature available underscores the importance of taking cultural factors into account in the development and implementation of prevention strategies.
