Spherical Electrical Feedthroughs for High Pressure Vessels

Abstract
A new scheme for bringing electrical leads into high pressuregas systems has been developed. The seal is formed by forcing a spherical ball into a hemispherical seat with a layer of plastic film as insulation and sealing material. These seats are trivial to make. Gas pressures as high as 24 kilobars have been held.
