Quality Control During Construction of Power Plants

Abstract
The need for quality control during the construction of power plants has always been recognized as beneficial. Federal law requires a comprehensive program be provided to control and assure quality during the construction of nuclear power plants. Many methods to control quality have been developed to meet the mandatory requirements set forth by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. However, many in the industry have criticized these as expensive, unnecessary, and uncompromising. Making quality control cost effective and supportive of construction, requires more than just meeting federal regulations and many other aspects have to be considered. It should be considered another management tool.
