Abstract
The serum antibody to Epstein-Barr virus (EB3) was measured in 19 patients with proved nasopharyngeal carcinoma and ten patients in a control group. Fourteen of the 19 patients with the nasopharyngeal carcinoma had high anti-E-B virus titers (from 1:160 to as high as 1:640), compared to low control titers (1:37). The data suggest a possible causal relationship of the E-B virus with nasopharyngeal carcinoma as well as Burkitt's lymphoma and infectious mononucleosis. Keywords
