Abstract
An adenocarcinoma of the papilla of Vater showing hepatoid differentiation similar to that described for hepatoid adenocarcinoma of the stomach is reported. The tumor was a poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma with clear cells containing occasional hyaline droplets and exhibiting bile secretion. Alpha-fetoprotein (AFP), alpha 1-antitrypsin (alpha 1-AT) and carcino-embryonic antigen (CEA) were demonstrated by immunoperoxidase staining. This appears to be the first report of a hepatoid adenocarcinoma at this location. Keywords
