Abstract
Behavioral synthesis tools generate a wide range of designs, not all suited to one layout style. Thus there is a need for a flexible framework for mapping behavioral synthesis output onto module generators and layout tools. LASSIE provides this flexible framework and introduces a structural binding step that adapts the output of behavioral synthesis tools to different layout styles. The design process is divided into structural binding, partitioning, placement, and layout generation. Several options are provided at each step, and feedback is provided to the user to allow him to evaluate the results of each step. Keywords
