Abstract
When raised in the laboratory, Heliothis virescens strains differed in their propensity to cannibalize other H. virescens larvae. Propensity to cannibalize was correlated with rate of predation on Spodoptera exigua larvae and ability to compete with aggressive H. zea larvae. Implications of these findings for pest management are discussed. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
