Abstract
The growth and carcass characteristics of semi-intensively reared Charolais × Ayrshire and Beef Shorthorn × Ayrshire cattle were studied. Charolais × Ayrshires grew faster while grazing, achieved slaughter condition at a higher live-weight and age and had leaner carcasses than Beef Shorthorn × Ayrshires. The practical significance of these results is discussed. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
