Abstract
Summary The Use of prophylactic antibiotics to reduce the incidence of postoperative infections is well established. In gynaecological surgery many authors including the Study Group (1975) and Vaughan et al. (1981) have shown metronidazole or cephradine to be useful in lowering postoperative infection rates. Keywords
