Abstract
Private domain : animal conservation in Togo. Animal conservation is an area of primary concern to the Togolese government. The policy implemented in the Savannah region shows that animal conservation has become a priority even to the detriment of rural development. An atmosphere of secrecy surrounds official decisions ; no public debate has ever been held on the topic. The paper argues for a national review of this policy. Keywords
