TIETZE'S SYNDROME

Abstract
Differential diagnosis of chest pain is often difficult. Substernal discomfort with effort is usually diagnosed as angina pectoris. It should be remembered that some of these patients with chest pain on exertion have Tietze''s syndrome, a painful swelling of the costochondral or sterno-clavicular junction. Effort should be made to exclude this possibility in all cases of suggested angina pectoris.
