Abstract
Transmission electron microscopy has been used to examine a neutron irradiated nickel-base alloy which had been doped with boron enriched in the 10B isotope. These observations show concentric circular halos of dislocations, many of them loops, surrounding some of the carbide precipitates in the specimens. These halos are believed to be planar segments of spherical damage shells surrounding regions of 10B concentration, and to represent the resting points of helium and lithium atoms produced by the 10B(n, α)7Li reaction. Keywords
