Superconductors speed up computation

Abstract
The past three decades have seen spectacular improvements in the performance of semiconductor devices. Nearly all of the key figures-of-merit, including the speed and the integration scale (the number of devices on a chip), have improved exponentially year on year. These advances have enabled a revolution in computers and communications: the computing power that once required a special building now sits on people's desks.
