Abstract
Hydrostatic pressure in the hemocoele of A. vulgare adults ranges from 40-185 mm H2O (2.99-13.66 mmHg); the O2 consumption varies from 13.43 .mu.l O2/mg body wt per h in the males to 14.59 .mu.l O2/mg body wt per h in the females. The specific variations in the O2 consumption rate and the hemolymph pressure during ecdysis in an adult isopod were studied. The significance of these findings is discussed.
