Abstract
The coupled equations for electron collisions with Be+, including the 1s22s and 1s22p levels, have been solved to obtain wavefunctions for the Be 1S ground state, and for the (e-+Be+) 1P continuum, and the solutions used to calculate the photoionization cross section. Similar calculations have been made for Mg.Keywords
