Abstract
In an effort to improve the accuracy of radiation therapy planning, a system of computerized radiation treatment planning utilizing ultrasonic laminagraphy as a direct source of anatomic information has been developed. With this unique system the location of deep tumors, normal anatomic structures, internal heterogeneities and patient contour are determined by B-mode ultrasound scanning. Utilization of this refined method of data acquisition provides precise anatomic information rapidly and easily. The direct input of this information into the digital computer system facilitates the generation of optimized treatment plans. Keywords
