Abstract
The dc Hall effect in bismuth has been investigated over a range of fields from 0 to 8000 gauss and at temperatures in the liquid helium region. It is observed that the Hall effect oscillates in a manner which is periodic in and that this period is independent of temperature. The dependence of the amplitude of the oscillations on field and temperature is of the general form given by the theoretical work of Grimsal and Levinger.
