Lymphocyte Blast-Transformation Test in Vitro in Cases of Chronic Gastritis

Abstract
Blood lymphocyte blast-transformation in vitro was studied in 45 cases with chronic gastritis, 27 cases with pancreatitis in acute stage, and in 10 healthy persons with gastric fundal, antral, and pancreatic antigens. In the group with gastritis, a positive result from lymphocyte blast-transformation with the gastric fundal antigen was found in 8 cases, with the antral antigen in 3 cases. In 2 of these cases the result was positive with both antigens. In the 27 patients with pancreatitis, 22 had a positive result from the blast-transformation test with the pancreatic antigen, whereas with the gastric antigen all the results were negative. None of the 10 healthy persons had a positive result from blast-transformation, no matter which antigen was used.
