Abstract
A case of an abdominal aortic aneurysm in a 9 year old Black male is reported. Abdominal roentgenograms, intravenous urograms and upper gastrointestinal series showed a bilobed calcified mass in the retroperitoneal space without defining the organ of origin. This case illustrates the usefulness of noninvasive techniques such as sonography and radioisotope angiography in determining the vascular origin of an unusual mass in a child. The principal purpose of arteriography was to rule out unsuspected lesions in other arteries. Although the pathologic findings were somewhat equivocal, the clinical information strongly suggested that this represented a mycotic aneurysm. Keywords
