Abstract
The author has studied the behaviour of 60 vergin females of Haploembia solieri, amphigonic biotype. These females ripened normally the eggs but usually ate them up after or by laying them. Now and then, some eggs have been spared and treated by the females like the fecundated ones. From the 60 vergin females, 128 such eggs have been obtained and 8 of them underwent development, giving rise to 8 quite vital larvae. Thus is demonstrated the existence of an accidental parthenogenesis in the amphigonic biotype of Haploembia solieri.
