A Shell-Model Study of f7/2-Shell Nuclei in the Pure fn7/2 Configuration

Abstract
We carry out a systematic study of the whole f7/2-shell nuclei by means of the pure f7/2 model in the seniority scheme of a proton-neutron system. Effective interactions are searched in a least-squares fitting procedure so as to take account of observed breakdown of the cross-conjugate symmetry. Comparing with experiment, we discuss the results of the calculations on energy levels, electromagnetic properties and ß decays. As well as satisfactory agreement, drawback of the pure model is clearly shown. Large symplectic admixture is seen in the diagonalized wavefunctions. Useful cross-conjugate relations of various quantities are also summarized.
