Abstract
Presentation of CaseA 20-year-old man was admitted to the hospital because of hemoptysis and anemia.He was well until 18 months earlier, when he began to have recurrent hemoptysis at intervals of several months. The episodes were characterized by coughing up 30 to 50 ml of grossly bloody sputum daily for three to 10 days. Chills, feverishness, diffuse weakness and tightness in the right side of the chest accompanied the attacks. At the same time he began to have night sweats. Anemia occurred and increased in severity despite the administration of iron and other hematinics. Fatigue and exertional dyspnea . . .
