Abstract
THIS paper explores the use of focused group dis cussions to explore undergraduates' knowledge of HIV/Aids and their attitudes towards it. It argues that such open-ended settings allow the free expres sion of doubts and concerns which might be obscured or not investigated by the more structured and quantified techniques commonly used to investi gate knowledge, beliefs and attitudes towards health issues. Keywords
