A study of the cause of diplopia resulting from fractures of the floor and bones of the orbit was presented. After a review of the clinical findings and the ro-entgenographic examination, the treatment is described. Packing the maxillary sinus is the method which must be completed eventually with an exposure of the floor of the orbit through the lower eyelid incision to free the adherent soft tissues. For the treatment of malunited fractures, osteotomy or reconstruction by bone grafts is described.
