Squeezed Coherent States and Hadronic Multiplicity Distributions

Abstract
A new quantum optical model for the hadronic multiplicity distributions in high-energy interactions is presented. The model is based on a generalized theory of squeezed coherent states. The predictions of the model are compared with ISR and UA5 data and are shown to be in remarkable agreement. Physical arguments for the applicability of these states are given.Keywords
