Abstract
Saccharo-myces ellipsoideus (Burgundy strain) shows a 20-30% inhibition of the 1st generation of yeast buds if it is exposed on a solid medium to the heterogeneous magnetic field of a small permanent horseshoe magnet. It is sensitive to this field only during the last half of the lag phase. Shields of glass or paraffin do not interfere with this inhibition, but iron shields prevent it. A homogeneous magnetic field does not affect the number of buds. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
