Recent Developments in Radio Location of Thunderstorm Centers *

Abstract
The location of thunderstorms through observations of the directions of arrival and the instantaneous intensity variations of the electromagnetic radiations produced by the associated lightning discharges is described. The method of triangulation (θ1, θ2), employed by the Air Forces during World War II, and the proposed single-station (R, θ) technique currently under investigation at the University of Florida are discussed.
