Abstract
When milk powder is examined for the presence of salmonellae using a volume of preenrichment medium three times or more that of the milkpowder, false-negative results may be obtained. Reconstitution for half an hour at room temperature using an amount of medium twice the volume of the milk powder, before further dilution and preenrichment, increased Salmonella recovery.Keywords
