Abstract
The value of the electronic conductivity of polymers such as polyacetylene, polypyrrole and polythiophene can be varied over many orders of magnitude, from semiconducting to metallic, by chemical doping. Charge carriers in these materials have interesting properties which are currently the subject of extensive investigation. Much of the experimental interest is stimulated by possible practical applications. Keywords
