Abstract
A wetting front moving in a homogeneous soil at sufficiently low speed is unstable. Assuming that the perturbed front speed is affected by its curvature the dependence of the most unstable wave length on soil properties is determined exactly. It is found that this wave length should be larger for fine-textured soils than for coarse-textured soils and also that it should be larger when the initial moisture content increases. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
