Vertical motion and ‘‘scarred’’ eigenfunctions in the stadium billiard

Abstract
A subset of pseudoregular eigenfunctions of the classically chaotic stadium billiard is shown to participate strongly in vertically directed motion, supporting the conjectures of McDonald and of Heller regarding periodic orbits and pseudoregular eigenfunctions.Keywords
