Abstract
By precipitation successively with mercuric acetate-Ba (OH)2 and phosphotungstic acid, followed by extraction from acid solution (after mild hydrolysis) with butyl alcohol, the 2nd factor is obtained from an extract of lentils as a concentrate active in doses of 1.2 mgm. per 100cc of medium in the presence of 20 mgm. inositol. The active substance occurs naturally in combination with an inactive nitrogenous base, and possesses weak acidic properties. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
