Abstract
Analyzing powers for inelastic scattering of 10-MeV neutrons to the first excited states of , , , , , and have been measured at a few selected angles. These data were analyzed using a coupled channels code in which the full Thomas form of the spin-orbit potential is assumed. The magnitudes of the observed spin-orbit deformations, which were found to be similar to those of (,) in each case, contradict recent suggestions based on microscopic nuclear structure considerations.
