Abstract
The procedure for obtaining scattering phase shifts using a discrete Laguerre-type basis set developed by Heller, Rescigno, and Reinhardt is generalized so as to be applicable with different discrete bases. As an illustration, - and -wave phase shifts are computed for the static hydrogen potential using three-dimensional harmonic-oscillator wave functions.
