Abstract
No fixation of Ca or Ba takes place under conditions where K is fixed. NH4, like K, is fixed in the exchange complex. There is some difference between the fixation capacity of NH4 and K in different colloids, NH4 fixation being lower. A reasonable explanation is offered for the variable behavior of NH4 and K.
