Abstract
The x-ray photoemission spectra (XPS) of the series of compounds , where , have been measured. Satellites are observed on the , , and lines and are shown to arise from simultaneous excitation of the Pt complex during photoemission. The positions and widths of the levels indicate that the electrons are delocalized with a variation of electron density between any two Pt sites being ≲ 0.2 electrons.
