Abstract
The setal patterns of the anterior abdominal segments of first-instar and older larvae in more than 50 genera representing the six Nearctic subfamilies of Geometridae, have been examined. The significant variations in these patterns have been summarized and a key to the subfamilies is presented. Relationships within the Geometridae are discussed. Keywords
