Abstract
Two types of cavity‐backed slot (CBS) antennas fed by a microstrip line and operating at 5.8 GHz are described in this letter. One is a broadband linearly polarized CBS antenna, which can provide 34% bandwidth for a 10‐dB return loss. The other is a circularly polarized dual T‐shape CBS, which has 4% bandwidth for a 3‐dB axial ratio and a 15% bandwidth for a 10‐dB return loss. The simulated and measured results of both antennas are in good agreement. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
