Pyrolysis of HNCO vapor

Abstract
The pyrolysis of HNCO vapor has been studied briefly at pressures from 5 to 20 Torr and temperatures from 550 to 700 °C. Products observed were CO, N2, H2, CO2, HCN, and C2N2; the elemental balance suggests that NH3 and NH2CN may also have been products. The pyrolysis is complicated by surface effects, polymerization, and secondary reactions, and is not amenable to quantitative kinetic studies.
