Abstract
"In this article we have developed a generalization of Heider''s theory of balance by use of concepts from the mathematical theory of linear graphs." "Although Heider''s theory was originally intended to refer only to cognitive structures of an individual person, we propose that the definition of balance may be used generally in describing configurations of many different sorts, such as communication networks, power systems, sociometric structures, systems of orientations, or perhaps neural networks." 21 references. Keywords
