Abstract
In 0.5[xPZ-(1-x)PT]-0.5[yPZN-(1-y)PNN] system ceramics, the dielectric and piezoelectric properties, the temperature and electric field dependences have been studied as a function of PT and PZN content. In both calcined powders and fired samples with the addition of columbite precursor materials, a presence of the pyrochlore phase could not be seen. Dielectric and piezoelectric constant of the ceramics near the morphotropic phase boundary decreased gradually with the addition of PZN, while electromechanical coupling factor was little affected by it. By addition of PZN, the morphotropic phase boundary of samples shifted to a more Zr rich composition. The temperature and electric field dependences of the piezoelectric strain constant were improved due to the increasing of the Curie temperature and coercive field with the addition of PZN.Keywords
